OVERVIEW :

This toubkal trek in the High Atlas starts from Marrakech to Imlil village where you will meet our team. Once you load your luggage on mules, you start trekking with our guide for the ascent of Toubkal / the highest point in North Africa! During the second day, you will go down from the top and then return to Imlil in Marrakech.

2 Days Toubkal Trek In The High Atlas Mountains

DAY 1 : Marrakech / Imlil / Refuge Nelter

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in the morning; we drive to Imlil village. It will take abotu 1h30 drive. This is where you meet our small team before you leave for a trek of 5 to 6 hours to the small shelter under the top of Toubkal. In some places, the paths are quite steep and narrow. You will continue to rise through the secluded mountains and through several passes before arriving at the shelter where you will spend the night and where you can enjoy Berber hospitality. The distance between Marrakech and Imlil is of about 70 kilometers (43 miles) and the trip will be in minibus or private Taxi depending on number of participants. The first day’s trek will involve walking for 5 to 6 hours and a climb of 1500 meters (4921 feet).

2 Days Toubkal Trek In The High Atlas Mountains

Day 2 : Refuge Toubkal / Toubkal summit / Imlil / Marrakech

During the second day, you will make the ascent of the highest point of the Maghreb. However, this climb does not present major difficulties. The last peak of Toubkal is wide and the climb is less steep in the approach to the summit. You will marvel at the cliffs that overlook the other side of the lake d’Ifni. After getting off the highest point of the North Africa, you will come to Imlil from where you will be brought back to Marrakech. The second day, the duration of the trek will be of about 8 hours. You will make the ascent of 1,000 additional meters (3280 feet). In total, the descent will be of approximately 2468 meters (8097 feet).
