Toubkal (4167m) is 4,167m, the highest mountain in North Africa. Hiking to the summit is challenging, but no mountaineering experience is required, and the panoramic views from the summit make the hard work worthwhile. Once trekking begins, you can reach and return to the summit within a week, just a few hours drive from Marrakech. Still, there is time to explore Marrakech, Morocco's most fascinating city.
DAILY TOUR :
DAY 1 : Marrakech / Imlil / 4 Hours trek & Hike
After moving to a small village in Imlil, start trekking. Along the Mizane Valley, first pass the village of Alemdo and then to the shrine of Sidi Chamalush. Then we head east and by crossing the floodplain, our route takes us along the mule road to the high rocky cliffs above the valley. After crossing the river, you will soon reach the idyllic shrine of Sidi Chamarouch, which attracts tourists and pilgrims. From here, the trail continues to climb steadily, meandering to the snow line and the shelter of Toubkal Mountain (3206m), and going zigzag.
About 4-5 hours on foot.
DAY 2 : Toubkal Ascent / Back to Imlil
Early in the morning, challenge the summit of Mount Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. Our route crosses a stream above the shelter and goes up the southern cirque. It's relatively easy to walk, but it's partly quite difficult due to the scree and altitude. The scenery along the way makes the trip worthwhile. When you reach the top of the mountain, you will find that the surrounding scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. From here, you'll find unlimited views in all directions, from the Marrakech Plains to the High Atlas to the north, to the Anti-Atlas and Sahara Mountains to the south. Follow the steps as you descend the mountain and return to Imlil. We spend the night in a local guesthouse in Imlil
DAY 3 : Imlil / Tichka pass / Ouarzazate / Dades Gorges
Today we will drive towards the Moroccan desert. First, cross the magnificent Tizinutika Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. As you pass through many Amazigh villages and enter the desert, riverside oasis and barren hillsides are densely populated with Kasbah. After lunch, we also head to the Rose Valley, with beautiful views of the Days Valley, the Valley of the Thousand Kasbahs. Overnight at Dades.
DAY 4 : Dades Gorges / Todra Gorges / Erfoud / Merzouga
After breakfast, we drive to Todra Gorge and after a short stop there we drive on to Merzouga village at the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
DAY 5 : Exploring Merzouga / visit to nomads / Camel trek
Today we have a free day to enjoy the beautiful scenery and atmosphere of the Erg Chevi dunes. In the afternoon, ride a camel to the dunes, where you spend the night in a Berber tent. After watching the beautiful sunset, enjoy a wonderful dinner.
DAY 6 : Merzouga / Rissani / Anti-Atlas / Draa Valley / Marrakech
After seeing the most beautiful sunrise and having breakfast at the campsite, ride a camel back to Auberge. From there it will be a long day drive (via the Doller Valley) to Ait Benhaddou. Ait Benhaddou is a small town with one of the best-preserved and most popular Kasbah in Morocco.
DAY 7 : Ait ben haddou / High Atlas / Marrakech
We will return to Malakesh via the Tichika Pass again. We will arrive in Malakesh early in the afternoon. Marrakech is also famous for its magnificent gardens, and the Majorelle Garden, created by a French artist of the same name in 1920, is probably the most beautiful garden. The bright blue villas are in stark contrast to the surrounding tropical vegetation that grows in huge vases and pots.
DAY 8 : Free Day In Marrakech
You will have a free day in Marrakech to relax, shopping in Marrakesh souks or enjoy a full day of wellbeing (hammam, spa, massage)
