OVERVIEW :
These five days from Casablanca to Fez will enable you to enjoy the Atlas Mountains and ride camels in the desert of Merzouga. Also, you will have the opportunity to see the most impressive valleys of Ziz, Todra and Dades as well as the Gorges of Todra and Dades. Furthermore, you will visit the largest cinema studios in Ouarzazate, and then visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Finally, enjoy the characteristic Berber villages in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains.
DAILY TOUR :
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL CASABLANCA
When you arrive in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will meet our driver/guide. Depending on the time of arrival you will visit the city of Casablanca, the "White City" begins with a guided tour through its wide streets, a stroll through the narrow streets of the city, the United Nations Square, Mohammed V Square, the Central Market, the Awqaf district, the residential Anfa district, the Corniche Street along the swimming pools and restaurants The Hassan II Mosque. As it is the second largest mosque in the world and indeed a beautiful work of art, it is one of the rare mosques opened for non-Muslims. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
DAY 2 : CASABLANCA / RABAT / FEZ
We leave early after breakfast towards Fez. We will stop to visit Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and also overlooking the sea, and we will see the red walls clad with nuts, more than 5 kilometers long and built during the reign of Sultan Yacoub Al-Mansur, which gives the city a very special character that distinguishes it. You will pass through Medina and its souks more authentic than others because the products of the shops turned into local customers, then we visit the Kasbah of the Udayas erected by a terrible tribe of predators in the twelfth century, then we visit the Hassan 2 tower where 4 different facades are decorated from each other, three in Shades of pink and one gray due to the sea breeze, the remains of the old mosque and the Mausoleum of Mohammed 5 next to the tower, a masterpiece of traditional Moroccan architecture, filled with valuable materials from around the world and exquisite decorations. From there you will return to the new city to see the royal palace, the residence of the Merenid dynasty king. After lunch we continue to Fez. Overnight in Fez.
DAY 3 : FEZ / FES
After breakfast, you will begin your guided tour of Medina, one of the largest walled cities in the world. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, heaps of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets, and many other pieces of Moroccan art. You will visit mosques including Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque, founded by Fatima Al-Fihri in 859, and the Andalusian Mosque, which dates back to 860. Non-Muslims are not allowed to enter, fountains including the Carpenter's Fountain, and madrasas (Quranic schools) founded in the 13th century.
In the last century, the Batha Palace is now a museum of arts and traditions, the Chowara tanneries, the markets including Souk al-Attarine, one of the most vibrant places in the city, Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics, the Mellah and the 17th century Ibn Danan Synagogue, and the Kings Palace, after Noon Visit the North or South Tower to see the old city from above and the sunset. Overnight.
DAY 4 : FEZ / MEKNES / CASABLANCA
We leave early after breakfast towards Casablanca, we will pass through Moulay Idriss where is the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss founder of Fez, one of Morocco's holiest cities, then visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis and spend some time exploring it. Antiquities dating back 2000 years and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire, when arriving in Meknes one has a great view of the Medina. The tour begins with a tour of the ancient gated walls dating back to the 17th century in Bardain Bab, Bab Al Khamis. We continue to explore the city through the stables (Rua), attics (HERI) and the stud.
There was a need to stop at the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail that was for a long time the only mosque that non-Muslims could visit in Morocco. Then he exits through the famous Bab Mansour in the vast Hadim Square. Across the square, the Moroccan Art Museum Dar Jamai offers a variety of handicrafts. After lunch we continue to Casablanca. Overnight at the hotel.
